What to do:

The wooden dock we are on, Pier 1, and the two adjacent piers, Pier 6 & 8 are the homes of two whale watch boats, Harbor Princess and Pink Lady. As far as unforgettable experiences go, there is nothing like looking an eighty-foot fin back whale in the eye! You are guaranteed to remember this encounter for years to come!

The two schooner sailing adventures aboard The Lazy Jack" and "The East Wind" both leave from Pier 1 as well. Taking a leisurely afternoon ocean stroll or sailing away into a sunset will leave you with an array of stunning photos and exclusive memories.

Another popular thing to do in the harbor is to attend the Cabbage Island Clambake leaving from Pier 6 at Fishermen's Wharf. It is a 1/2 hour boat tour of the harbor to Cabbage Island where after you dock and take in the spectacular views you will feast upon an awesome, truly Maine affair – a "Maine Lobster Bake".

Pier 8, which is just 100 yards or so from us hosts the Novelty, which offers trips to breathtakingly beautiful Mohegan Island and tours of our picturesque harbor as well.

The Bay Lady, an authentic single mast schooner, can be hired for personal charters or group trips along with many fishing boats that leave from within walking distance of Pier 1.

If you like shopping – you won't disappoint them either. Pier 1 and the adjacent streets offer many fine stores to peruse and pass some time away.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are yet another unique attraction in Boothbay. Here you will enjoy glorious formal gardens, impressive stonework, man-made waterfalls and ponds, and an overall design that's both appealing and impressive. You'll also find antique stone walls; nearly a mile of sparkling waterfront; massive ledges covered in mosses, lichens, and ferns; and native forest – in fact, the essence of Maine. The combination is unbeatable. Their enthusiasm will become yours as you discover the Gardens for yourself. You can see the highlights in a few hours; or you can explore forever, experiencing the grounds in different seasons and varying weather conditions. And, of course, you can watch our gardens grow and bloom and transform into something altogether different within a familiar framework. After all, if there's one thing that's certain about gardens, it's that they are forever changing.
